Outcome:

The Murra Warra Wind Farm, completed in February 2020 has a capacity of 226 MW, consisting of 61 turbines that will produce enough clean electricity to power 220,000 homes annually.  SwitchCo Projects was appointed as Project Manager (PM) - embraced as an integral part of the Senvion team. The role included everything expected of a PM for a wind turbine Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract – transport and logistics, cranage and installation, contract management, communications, financial, scheduling, resourcing and QHSE management to name a few.

Challenge:

Only one month after SwitchCo was appointed, Senvion GmbH filed for self-administration under German law. This didn’t deter SwitchCo’s passion and determination. We adapted, remaining calm and dependable in the face of change. We provided support for the long term, and worked on the relationships built. It was an emotionally tough project filled with difficult situations, but we were rewarded by being part of the final turbine installation, commissioning and reliability run nine months after the self-administration was announced.
