Background:
The Work Place Clearance Group (WPCG) is a joint venture between BP, Caltex and Viva Energy Australia. The WPCG accreditation is required by anyone conducting works on the oil major’s facilities. As part of WPCG’s requirements, activities that are considered high risk require Work Permits to be issued by a Permit Officer in order for works to proceed.
As part of our commitment to safety, SwitchCo Projects have in-house resources who are Permit Officers and Senior Permit Officers who are able to issue WPCG Work Permits. This is often a service that we include as part of our projects, however we are also able to provide permit issuing services on an as needs basis dependant on your project requirements.
As Permit Officers, we conduct the following scope as part of our service:
-
Review of Contractor SWMS and management plans prior to commencing of works
-
Attend site to conduct toolbox briefing with Contractor’s permit receiver
-
Supervision to ensure works are being carried out under permit conditions
-
Any subsequent revisits to re-endorse permit
Our Permit Officers are based in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland and they are prepared to travel nationally if required.
